Canadian Rockies Train
Our Canadian Rockies train tours are known for their unforgettable experiences and affordability. As there are no train tracks between the 3 main cities (Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise) in the Canadian Rockies, combining a train trip with our motorcoach tour allows you the best of both worlds as you get to experience train travel while also exploring the Rocky Mountains up-close and personal.
You have 2 options when considering a rail & bus tour package – Rocky Mountaineer or VIA Rail. Both of these rail companies provide an amazing train experience that will be one of the highlights of your tour, but there are differences so please consider the list below when making the decision on which rail & bus package is best for you.
Your seat depends on which train service you book: SilverLeaf, and GoldLeaf. The main difference between them is the window size, and therefore your view varies. SilverLeaf passengers do not have access to the GoldLeaf dome car.
The Rocky Mountaineer train only runs during the day, so you will spend the night in a moderate hotel in Kamloops. The hotel and transfers in Kamloops are included.
Featured on National Geographic’s Top 10 Train Trips, the Rocky Mountaineer is a luxury sightseeing train that will provide you with breath-taking views for the duration of your train journey.
Your seat will be located inside your private SLEEPER PLUS cabin. You are also free to walk around and explore the train. Furthermore, you can visit the Park & Skyline cars and enjoy the awe-inspiring views through their glass dome roofs.
You will spend the night onboard the train in your private SLEEPER PLUS cabin, which includes a private washroom for your convenience.
Since its creation in 1977, VIA Rail prides itself on providing a true train experience to their passengers and your journey onboard VIA Rail is sure to be a highlight of your tour through the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
