This route offers a comprehensive experience, showcasing some of the most stunning and diverse rail scenery in the world. You'll journey past breathtaking lakes, through serene coastal rainforests, and across the desert-like landscapes of the Fraser Canyon, before reaching the vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau. This area is known as gold country, drawing prospectors from around the globe during the late 1850s and early 1860s in search of their fortunes.

Day 1 (Jasper To Quesnel)
(Departs: 6:55 Am, Arrives: 6:30 Pm)*

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to Quesnel on your first day. Pass through the Rocky Mountain Trench, with the steep Rocky and Cariboo mountains either side, and on to the rolling hills and vast forests of British Columbia’s northern interior. Highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Yellowhead Pass and Moose Lake. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer passes through the town of Prince George and follows the Fraser River into Quesnel. Overnight in Quesnel. [B] [L]

Day 2 (Quesnel To Whistler)
(Departs: 7:10 Am, Arrives: 7:30 Pm)*

Your journey continues south today to Whistler. Enjoy breathtaking and varied scenery, from the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon to the rolling hills and vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau to the river canyons and lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley. Highlights include sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon, the crossing of Deep Creek Bridge, one of the highest railway bridges in the world, and the shorelines of glacial-fed Seton Lake and Anderson Lake. Your rail journey ends today on arrival in the resort town of Whistler. Overnight in Whistler. [B] [L]

Day 3 (Whistler To Vancouver)
(Departs: 3:10 Pm, Arrives: 7:00 Pm)*

The morning is free to explore Whistler Village at your leisure. Highlights of the trip include the Cheakamus Canyon, the dome peak of Mount Garibaldi, Brandywine
Falls, and breathtaking views of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains. An afternoon snack is served onboard. On arrival at the North Vancouver train platform, you will be transferred to your accommodation in downtown Vancouver.

FAQ’S

Pent-up demand for Canadian vacations has been extremely high, and we highly recommend booking your seats as early as possible (to secure your preferred date and avoid hotel downgrades). 

Onboard the Rocky Mountaineer, you’ll be cared for by a dedicated team committed to exceptional service — and their gratuities are included as part of your package price.

However, gratuities are not included for sightseeing tour guides or drivers. Tipping is entirely at your discretion, though in Canada it’s customary to offer a gratuity in recognition of excellent service.

Rocky Mountaineer operates exclusively during the daytime so that you can really enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the route. Every day of travel begins early in the morning, usually around 6:00 and 8:00 a.m., and ends late afternoon, about 5:00 p.m., and that’s when you check into your overnight hotel.

Absolutely! Rocky Mountaineer offers assistance with boarding and detraining at every stop. However, it is essential to let them know about your mobility or accessibility requirements at the time of booking or fill up the Accessibility Requirements Form to ensure everything is arranged for a smooth, comfortable journey.
