Itinerary: 6 Days/5 Nights Roundtrip to Rockies from Vancouver

Day 1: Vancouver to Jasper
Depart from the Hyatt Hotel via the Melville Street entrance near Burrard SkyTrain Station for an on-time coach departure. Enjoy scheduled coffee breaks and lunch en route before stopping at the Mt. Robson Visitor Centre for photos of the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Continue to Jasper for an overnight stay, adjusting your watch one hour ahead as you enter the Mountain Time Zone.
Day 2: Jasper to Banff
Discover the natural beauty of the Rockies with stops at Maligne Canyon and Athabasca Falls, followed by lunch. Continue on a scenic drive to the Columbia Icefield, where you may choose an optional Ice Explorer experience or visit the Parks Canada Glacier Gallery. Travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, stopping at Peyto Lake (seasonal) or Bow Lake, before arriving in Banff for your overnight stay. [B]
Day 3: Banff National Park, Lake Louise
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for a day of sightseeing in Banff National Park. You may choose an optional ride on the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain, followed by visits to the Banff Springs Hotel and Bow Falls. Continue on a scenic drive to Johnston Canyon before stopping for lunch. In the afternoon, admire the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake (seasonal), then return to Banff for an overnight stay. [B]
Day 4: Banff to Lake Louise
Enjoy a leisurely buffet breakfast at the hotel before a late-morning departure from Banff. At 12:00 pm, transfer to Lake Louise and arrive at your hotel by approximately 1:00 pm, where the remainder of the day is free to explore at your own pace. Alternative transfer departure times are available throughout the day upon request and subject to availability. [B]
Day 5: Lake Louise to Kamloops
Transfer by Rocky Mountaineer motorcoach from Lake Louise to the train station in the morning and check in for your journey. Travel aboard the Rocky Mountaineer with breakfast and lunch served onboard as you enjoy a full day of spectacular scenery. Arrive in Kamloops in the early evening and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. [B] [L]
Day 6: Kamloops to Vancouver
Transfer from your hotel to the train station and board the Rocky Mountaineer in the morning. Enjoy breakfast and lunch onboard while traveling through beautiful landscapes on your journey west. Arrive in Vancouver in the late afternoon at the Rocky Mountaineer station, with drop-off available at select downtown hotels, marking the end of your tour. [B] [L]

Your tour includes 3 main components: Hotel accommodation, a Rocky Mountaineer Rail trip, and a Deluxe motorcoach tour. Tour cost is based on the choice of hotel stay (standard or deluxe), rail service (GoldLeaf or SilverLeaf), and room occupancy (Single, Double, Triple, or Quad). Published rates are per person in Canadian dollars before tax.

Standard hotels are mountain lodge-style while Premium Plus hotels are resort-style. The majority of our guests choose standard accommodation as these hotels are very clean and comfortable, and travelers will get their own private room and washroom. Travelers who book Premium Plus accommodation often do so because they want to stay at Chateau Lake Louise. If you want to book deluxe accommodation, be sure to book early as these hotels sell out quickly – availability is limited within 6 months of departure!
Gratuities are not included in the prices, except for onboard the Rocky Mountaineer. It is customary to tip for excellent service in Canada.
Each travel day aboard Rocky Mountaineer as well as the coach is a scenic experience, not just a transfer. As we make our way from Vancouver to Jasper or Banff, you’ll enjoy incredible views, short rest stops, and chances to photograph some of Canada’s most stunning landscapes. Filled with spectacular scenery and frequent stops to rest, explore, and take photos. Our comfortable motorcoaches make every mile enjoyable.
We welcome guests of all mobility levels on our tours. While our motorcoaches are not equipped with wheelchair lifts, we can usually accommodate foldable wheelchairs or mobility aids that can be safely stored in the luggage compartment.
